JEE Main 2025: Key Updates


Exam Pattern:


Mandatory Questions: The optional questions in Section B have been removed. Candidates are now required to attempt all questions in this section, eliminating previous choices.
Question Distribution: Each subject Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics—comprises 25 questions: 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and 5 numerical value questions.

Marking Scheme: Each correct answer awards 4 marks, while each incorrect response results in a deduction of 1 mark.

Syllabus Adjustments:

·         Physics: Topics such as Scalars & Vectors, Addition & Subtraction of Vectors, Scalar & Vector Products, Unit Vectors, and Resolution of Vectors have been removed from the syllabus.

·         Curriculum Alignment: The syllabus continues to follow the NCERT curriculum for Classes 11 and 12, ensuring consistency with national educational standards.

NEET UG 2025: Key Updates

Exam Pattern:

·         Section B Removal: The optional Section B has been discontinued. All 180 questions are now compulsory, with no choices provided.

Question Distribution: The exam comprises 180 multiple. choice questions: 45 each from Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology.

·         Exam Duration: The total duration has been adjusted to 3 hours (180 minutes), reverting to the pre COVID format.

·         Marking Scheme: Each correct answer awards 4 marks, while each incorrect response results in a deduction of 1 mark.

Syllabus:

·         No Changes: The syllabus remains unchanged from the previous year, encompassing core concepts from Classes 11 and 12 in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as prescribed by the NCERT.

Implications for Aspirants

The removal of optional questions in both JEE Main and NEET UG necessitates comprehensive preparation across all topics. Candidates should focus on strengthening their understanding of the entire syllabus, as selective studying is no longer a viable strategy. Utilizing structured study plans, regular practice, and mock tests will be essential in adapting to these changes and achieving success in the examinations.
